Still maintaining Nikon's high quality in mid range digital SLRs the D90 is ideal for basic sports photography with 4.5 fps providing the power to capture fast action and precise moments perfectly, with the Scene Recognition System allowing faster auto focusing.
The D90 delivers enough features to keep the passionate photographer happy with numerous exposure functions, 3D Color Matrix Metering, Live View through the new 3-inch LCD monitor (a big improvement on the D70 - especially for those of us requiring glasses to view the scene in the smaller monitor) The HD Movie mode produces cinematic quality video at 24 fps basically eliminating the need for a separate video camera for the amateur and semi professional photographer.

A full featured point and shoot with a fast shutter speed and excellent high powered zoom capacity. This enables the elimination of delayed picture capture experienced by a lot of earlier digital point and shoot cameras, Sony have called this capacity their 'Smile Shutter technology'.
